Two forces of equal strength collide until they lock: Feel the silence of that moment... Find your way in a dark box… Can you see the crossroads? Stop it, block it, crystallize it, make it yours. Make it your dimension, your speech, your reasoning...

Even today you reached your goal.. you deserve your much coveted prize. You disconnect from work, stamp your time-card, leave the office and immerse yourself in the chaos of city traffic, longing for your reason for living, your fixed point, your accomplice.. You park, go up the stairs of the house, open the door and run towards her. You take her by the hand and you fall into your favorite chair together. She touches your temples, plays on your brain, confuses your perception. The eyelids become heavy. You fall into a deep sleep..

What if one day we become prisoners of the ivory towers we have carefully built? How much would each inch gained be worth? How much would all those seconds that mark and plan our lives be worth? Only when cornered does a man understand his priorities and real needs.

Can an intangible element be passed on from generation to generation? Can a period or an event trigger traumas so strong that they remain etched in our DNA? Can emotions like pain or fear be passed down from father to son like hair color or eye cut? An unwelcome, uncomfortable inheritance, which everyone would gladly do without. A desire to distort one's history, one's identity, one's genealogy.

"Does being a Christian make a man an individual with a superior morality?" This is precisely the question that Flavio Tiberti asks himself. A question that finds answers in his journey to Sicily, a land still full of popular stories and traditions linked to Western-Christian culture, a culture that in the past has generated bloody vows in defence of the dogmas of the Church, often exhausting its conception.

Hard stone fortress. Walls like bark. Uterus in which to live closed, protected. A personal look beyond the wall in a short-sighted and easy era, with no contradictory.

Flavio Tiberti places at the center of his investigation anguished and restless scenarios, signs of a frenetic and inhuman society, increasingly distant from its roots and moral health.

Deafening empty spaces, invisible fears, the annihilation of reason, social constraint.. all these uncomfortable interactions between physical and metaphysical entities are the main feature of his research.

Through art we can reach a contamination of senses that breaks the synthesis of the image and releases unexpected reactions.
The role and responsibility of the artist is essential: he can and must propose a different perspective on the world, filtered by his own analysis.

Main exhibitions

2004 - in “New York Stories”. he began analysing life within the social community, the start of a work that he exhibited in Los Angeles at the So.Ho. Art Gallery, which continued in Still Life, 2007, presented in the prestigious setting of the whole Galleria Subalpina, historical building in Turin city centre.
A more introspective phase follows, in which he considers the remains of relationships with "Scars", in Berlin, and the possibility of conscious rejection of society with the video “Absurdabsence”, in Turin and Milan, 2012.
2014 - “Not Silent" is a journey into what is abandoned, looking for traces of distant lives.
In 2015, "Rovi di Mare" with artist Petra Probst in Sicily: cross-section of existences around the sea, at the Mu.MA in Genoa and in 2020 at the Museo Diffuso della Resistenza and the headquarters of Emergency Turin.
In 2016 Flavio presents "unitedstates", on the modern loss of contact and therefore of the self, at the Sant'Agostino Museum in Genoa where he afterwards exhibited “Roots”, with painter Davide Minetti, in 2017.
“Oltremuro", presented in Sicily and in France in 2019, proposes a suggestion to overcome all the ideological barriers. In the group show "19 | 89. Thirty years Beyond the wall", in Turin he exhibits the video installation "Room 7b".
In 2020 in Sicily, the second edition of "Lager", together with artist Franco Accursio Gulino, presenting works centred on the intergenerational transmission of trauma. In Mazara del Vallo, at Espace, ”Hope - Space awareness before extinction ", a critical reflection that questions the authority of time.
In 2021 "Rumorebianco", virtual and physical exhibition around the deep sleep induced by the media, verging subtly towards evil.
